Luxtone Technology transformed the client’s service delivery processes, managing a £65m portfolio of over 2,500 projects for Civica. We reduced project overruns from -15% to -7% and achieved 95% forecasting accuracy within nine months through robust governance and risk management. By improving the sales to delivery process, we aligned cross-functional teams, reducing sales leakage by £400k in the first year.
We introduced a tailored Project Delivery Framework and PPM Competency Framework to embed best practices and improve team capabilities. Additionally, we streamlined merger processes, enhanced reporting for executive decision-making, and delivered measurable value by aligning portfolio objectives with business goals.
Advance Pricing Model
Our team partnered with BNP Paribas to optimise their high-performance computing capabilities. We collaborated with quantitative analysts to integrate advanced pricing models into their systems and optimised C# code for GPU execution using the NVIDIA/CUDA framework, enabling massive parallelisation for simulations. We also provided BAU code IMPROVEMENTS to streamline processes.
Data Integration and Analysis for Manufacturing Robotics
Luxtone partnered with Delphi and provided software solutions to extract and centralise data generated by manufacturing robots. Using a C# application, we extracted, parsed, and stored robot-generated data into a SQL Server 2010 database. We also developed data analysis tools that enabled engineers to query the database and display performance metrics, including graphical representations, to optimise robot operations. This involved working closely with engineers to identify machine data formats and design tailored database structures for seamless integration.
Payment Processing System and RDR Compliance Implementation
We partnered with Swiss Re to deliver a comprehensive payment processing system used by corporate clients to monitor and track fees and commissions due to, or expected from, interested parties over the lifetime of financial products such as pensions, insurance, or bonds.
As part of this service, we upgraded business modules to incorporate logic that adhered to the ‘Retail Distribution Review (RDR)’ government legislation, ensuring full compliance. Additionally, we developed robust data migration solutions, including SQL scripts to transfer client data from non-RDR-compliant databases to RDR-compliant systems. The solution was delivered using a combination of technologies, including Visual Studio 2010, C++, C#, LINQ, .NET 4.0, WPF, XML, Schematron, SQL Server 2008, Clearcase, and TFS, ensuring optimal performance and scalability for the client's operations.
Client Valuations Reporting System
Luxtone delivered a comprehensive Client Valuations Reporting System for Barclays Capital, designed to streamline trade data management and reporting for the Client Valuations team. This multi-tier, distributed COM-based system utilised Autosys for running and scheduling feed processing. We developed a robust solution to gather trade data from various sources, process and enrich it, optionally transform the data, store it in multiple databases, and present the information in meaningful, actionable reports. Trade data was processed through VC++ (version 7.0) for the business layer, SQL Server 2000 for database management, and XML with XSLT for data transformation and integration. BCP and ISQL were employed for rapid data loading and stored procedure execution, while ADO COM components handled additional data processing. A Java-based GUI was developed for data presentation, supported by a Web-Methods workflow layer to coordinate data transmission. This end-to-end service included all phases of the development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment, ensuring a tailored solution that met the client’s operational needs.
Portfolio Management
We provided comprehensive portfolio management services to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), supporting over 200 live projects with a combined budget exceeding £150m, benefiting 59,000 regulated firms. We led the business planning and prioritisation process, including demand management, feasibility assessment, and alignment with the FCA’s 3-year commitments. An integrated independent assurance framework was defined and implemented, incorporating stage gates, health checks, and deep dives, ensuring projects delivered value on time and within budget. Cross-programme dependencies and risks were addressed by aligning divisional delivery plans with FCA's strategic objectives. Governance processes were strengthened through timely issue resolution and accelerated decision-making to drive value for the client.
